Throughout her career, Sarah has directed the implementation of several treatment programs, including a trauma and substance abuse support group at a local domestic violence shelter, a walking group for new moms experiencing postpartum depression, and a psychosocial skills course for pregnant and postpartum women for a healthcare group. Sarah’s strengths as a therapist are in her ability to create a warm, open and safe space for her clients to create the healing changes they strive for.
“Throughout my career as a mental health therapist, my focus has been on treating survivors of trauma. What became clear to me through my work was the importance of reclaiming a sense of safety and security in the body after experiencing a traumatic event like sexual assault. Sacred Cycle’s mission resonated with my clinical training and with my own personal experience of healing through mountain biking. I have felt firsthand the restoration of trust, confidence, and empowerment that comes from pairing counseling with cycling. It’s been my experience that incorporating mind and body creates the strongest path to healing. I’m excited to apply my experience with program development and trauma treatment to Sacred Cycle.” ~Sarah Caldwell
