Morgan Whaley MTB Coach
Engineering Manager at Gaia GPS
Morgan spends 40 hours per week at a keyboard and as many hours outside of those 40 playing outside. She stepped into highly technical industries with no college degree and built a career out of tenacity and heart. She has spent 20 years as a designer, web developer, agile transformation advocate, technical educator, mentor, diversity and inclusion champion, and technical project leader. While working on apps that benefit military veterans pays the bills, teaching mountain biking feeds her soul. She began mountain biking at age 36 in the wake of a divorce and found a new passion that captured the wild heart she always knew was hiding deep inside. Her commitment to riding transcended almost everything else. Her love of the sport as well as educating and empowering others, especially women and other underrepresented groups, yielded stepping into coaching as an exciting new endeavor.
As a survivor I found mountain biking and therapy to be instrumental to my healing through the years. The mission of Sacred Cycle speaks to her heart and sense of purpose. I want my story and experience to inspire and support others in their own journeys.
A Colorado native who grew up on the Front Range, Morgan now splits her time between Colorado and Moab so that she can stay rowdy year-round. She loves building community, from coaching at mountain bike clinics to participating in adventure races to planning conferences and events to doing trail magic for hikers.
