Katie Davies 2021 MTB Coach
Snowboard Instructor and elementary school teacher
Katie moved to the Eagle River Valley after graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She taught snowboarding and spent a few years doing back-to-back winters in Colorado and Australia. In 2006 the ERV became her home year-round. Katie mountain biked a little in college, but really fell in love with the sport after spending summers in the valley, and it soon became her summer passion. After having kids and enduring the pandemic, Katie now views things from a new perspective. She has followed her passion for mountain biking and gained her coaching certification from PMBIA. She has seen how the outdoors has transformed her friends’ lives and how it has personally kept her grounded. Katie is excited to share that joy with others.
When I heard about Sacred Cycle from a friend and I learned about their mission, I knew it was an organization I needed to be involved with. Biking has changed my life and shown me that I can do hard things. I want to be able to help empower others and help them find peace and growth in nature and on a bike.
When not working you will find Katie exploring the mountains and searching for the next adventure. Her preferred exploration modes are snowboard and bike. These days you will find her with her two young daughters in tow on their bikes or snowboards, making sure to stop and enjoy every insect and flower along the way. Katie is also an avid baker and veggie gardener. She is learning skills to be more self-sufficient, having homegrown food all year long.
