Elisabeth “Lis” Tomlin Advisor
Therapist, Ithaca College Counseling Center; Counselor Education Adjunct Faculty, Adams State University
Lis (she/her/hers) has been a practicing mental health therapist for over 15 years. About half of this has been in college counseling settings, and other settings include private practice, addictions and recovery, IPV/DV, residential, community mental health, and corrections. Lis has also been an adjunct instructor for a graduate counseling program for about 6 years. Lis will be graduating with her Ph.D in Counselor Education in May 2021. Lis learned about Sacred Cycle in 2018, when she met Sacred Cycle board director, Jeannine Anders. She thought the concept was innovative, responsive, and creative.
“I began mountain biking in 2020 and the enormity of what Sacred Cycle truly does was unveiled. Mountain biking inspires us to challenge ourselves at the deepest level – what we know of ourselves, what we have learned, and what we are capable of. These experiences come with a lot of emotional growth processes. When I experienced this myself, I rekindled my relationship with Jeannine. Wow! I thought I got it before. But now, I really GET it.”
Lis currently resides in the beautiful Finger Lakes region in upstate New York. When not working, teaching, and working on her doctoral degree, Lis enjoys spending time with her four furkids. She loves being outdoors and hiking, biking, walking, and listening to audiobooks. Lis is a long time vegan and animal advocate, having a background in cofounding a canine rescue in the northeast.
