Caitlyn Tivy COMMUNITY RIDE COORDINATOR - Roaring Fork Valley
Caitlyn moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in 2018 after completing her education as a physical therapist. After completing all her schooling on the Front Range, she was eager for the opportunity to live and work in a mountain community. She now works as PT and a medical writer with a passion for promoting pelvic health in people of all genders.
Caitlyn learned about Sacred Cycle through another volunteer, Alan Luu, and was immediately drawn to its mission and community. In her professional work in women’s health, she has seen firsthand the profound impacts that sexual trauma can have on women’s physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. She is also constantly amazed by the resiliency of the human spirit and its ability to heal: she is a firm believer in the power of community and the outdoors to help people heal and live joyfully.
“The outdoors and the refuge it offers have been integral parts of my own personal growth: they’ve helped me heal from disordered eating and body dysmorphia and believe in my own strength again. Mountain biking has been a critical component of my own healing journey, and I’ve seen the power it has to bring people together in supportive community. Sacred Cycle has made me a better rider and a stronger leader, and I’m honored to be part of this community.”
When she’s not on the bike, you can find Caitlyn gallivanting around the valley and the wider Colorado wilderness: skiing, ski touring, backpacking, camping, and (gasp!) road cycling are her other favorite outdoor pursuits. She’s an avid yogi and has recently taken up fencing and gardening. She lives in the midvalley with her partner and far too many houseplants.
