Alan started his career as a graphic designer, but soon evolved into a 360º brand builder with a keen eye for visual communications, and real-world business acumen. Alan helped CPG giants like Pepsi and scrappy startups like IZZE gain and steal market share during his time at Integer Group. Client interface, go-to-market strategies, interpersonal relationship building, and an unquenchable entrepreneurial spirit make Alan the rarest of branding unicorns. Applying all his experience, Alan started his own marketing consulting firm, The Versant Co., back home in Basalt, Colorado. His vision is to inspire the community by helping local businesses, people, and organizations achieve their goals through creative and operational leadership.
“I first learned and started working with Sacred Cycle in my leadership program, Roaring Fork Leadership, as our civic project. My team worked to help to audit the existing marketing and developed the “Healing Our Community” message. In the process of working with Sacred Cycle, its powerful mission to empower survivors and help them heal through cycling and the outdoors resonated with me. When the opportunity arose, I jumped at the chance to continue working with Sacred Cycle and support my community, the participants, and the mission. It truly is about being present and taking on any challenge with the support of others, together. Amazing things happen when you ride together.”
When not working, Alan is out in the mountains and exploring nature in one capacity or another. Mountain biking, splitboarding, and climbing are his go-to activities. However, it’s all about enjoying life’s adventure and enjoying each moment, so you’ll find Alan is up for anything from traveling to barbequing on the patio with family and friends.
